SEOUL (Kyodo) -- North Korea fired a projectile toward the Sea of Japan, South Korea's military said Tuesday, with the Japanese coast guard saying it may have been a ballistic missile.

North Korea has recently test-fired short-range ballistic missiles and what Pyongyang claims to be a newly developed hypersonic missile.
