GIGABYTE Supports Ryzen 5 1600 "AF" on X570 Motherboards

GIGABYTE is among the first motherboard makers to come out with support for "first gen" Ryzen 5 1600 "AF" processors on its AMD X570 chipset motherboards, for those brave enough to pair the two. This support probably leverages the fact that the 1600 revision AF (model: YD1600BBM6IAF) is actually based on the 12 nm "Pinnacle Ridge" silicon and the "Zen+" microarchitecture, that's supported by the AGESA ComboAM4 microcode on X570 motherboards. Nomally, all X570 motherboards should support "Pinnacle Ridge," but the 1600 AF isn't drop-in compatible. The Ryzen 5 1600 AF is a 6-core/12-thread processor that offers performance matching the 2017 mid-range performance king, the then $200 Ryzen 5 1600, at a current price of just $85. Based on "Pinnacle Ridge," this is essentially an underclocked Ryzen 5 2600.
