Alienware showcases 34-inch AW3423DW Quantum Dot OLED Gaming Monitor at CES
Alienware's latest gaming monitor is a beast, offering users an ultrawide 34-inch screen with support for refresh rates as high as 175Hz and a resolution of 3440x1440. While these specifications alone make the AW3423DW a high-end gaming display, Alienware has taken things a step further by using a Samsung Quantum Dot OLED display panel from Samsung, enabling premium HDR gaming with true blacks.
To further optimise this monitor for gaming, Alienware has added an anti-glare coating to their AW3423DW monitor, removing distracting reflections from the screen. Additionally, Alienware has given this screen a "full 3 years of premium panel exchange warranty", which covers burn-in. That's how confident Alienware are that their AW3423DW will not be affected by burn-in.
The Alienware AW3423DW is an Nvidia G-Sync Ultimate monitor, supporting its full 175Hz maximum refresh rate through DisplayPort 1.4 and refresh rates of up to 100Hz when using HDMI 2.0. Sadly, this screen doesn't support HDMI 2.1, just like all other current-generation G-Sync Ultimate monitors.
Alienware advertises this monitor as being DisplayHDR 400 True Black certified and as having a peak brightness of 1000 cd/m². The screen is also said to cover 99.3% of the DCI-P3 colour space and feature a Delta E value of less tan two. Additionally, this monitor supports Alienware's AlienFX RGB lighting, VESA 100x100 monitor mounts, and features an integrated USB hub.
Alienware has not revealed the pricing or release date of their 34-inch ultrawide AW3423DW OLED gaming monitor. That said, we do not expect this OLED gaming monitor to be cheap. We expect Alienware to launch their AW3423DW monitor sometime this year.
