NVIDIA RTX 3080 12GB with more cores and memory to be announced next week
Wccftech claims to know the announcement date of NVIDIA’s new RTX 30 GPU.

Next week on January 11th at 6 AM PST NVIDIA is to announce its first ‘refresh’ of the RTX 30 series. It is not a SUPER refresh or a new Ti variant, but relatively a small update to the existing RTX 3080 SKU.
According to the leaked specs, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB is to feature not only 2GB more than the original 10GB model, but also a wider memory bus, which as result increases maximum bandwidth to 912 GB/s. Furthermore, a new GA102 GPU featuring 8960 CUDA cores is to be adopted by this variant, increasing the core count by 3% over the existing model.
At this point in time, it is unclear why is NVIDIA releasing a newer RTX 3080 model, or what will happen to the existing 10GB version. What is clear is that NVIDIA is now to announce yet another high wattage GPU in a span of two weeks. The company already revealed its RTX 3090 Ti flagship GPU with 450W TDP this Tuesday and will now add 350W TDP RTX 3080 12GB.
The RTX 3090 Ti is to launch on the same date as the entry-level RTX 3050, which is January 27th. The on-shelf date for RTX 3080 12GB is not yet known, but we will make sure to report on it as soon as we learn it. Wccftech claims that on January 11th, retailers may begin taking preorders for this new model, however that is also yet to be confirmed.
