No changes in GPU node for Radeon RX 6X50XT series

AMD Navi 21 and Navi 22 GPU refresh is focusing on memory upgrade only?

Moore’s Law is Dead claims that the rumored Radeon RX 6000 desktop series refresh it to continue using the same 7nm process technology as existing solutions. Therefore, the series will mainly provide a memory speed upgrade over existing solutions.

The rumors about a possible Radeon 6000 refresh are not really that old yet. First was a tweet from Greymon55 , who revealed that AMD is expected to introduce faster memory to some of its existing SKUs. Then there was a post from Wjm47196 on Chiphell forums, who said that there is a Navi 21 and Navi 22 refresh planned for a Q2 release. And just yesterday Greymon55 further clarified that these new cards should be expected in either late June or early July.

Now it’s Moore’s Law is Dead’s time to add another piece to the puzzle. He believes that those new cards are not to be based on a rumored 6nm refresh of Navi 2X chips but instead, rely on existing 7nm process technology. Therefore, the rumored 6X50XT parts would be nothing more than a memory spec upgrade, or is there something else to the story? That’s hard to say right now because we are still months ahead of launch.

What all sources have in common is a belief that new Radeon cards are to feature 18 Gbps GDDR6 memory , so just as fast as the existing Radeon RX 6900XT Liquid Edition and recently introduced RX 6500 XT model. MLID is also certain that these cards are currently internally called 6X50XT parts, but this obviously might change at some point.
