NVIDIA RTX 3090 Ti launches late March

NVIDIA flagship RTX 3090 Ti model set to launch on March 29th, a message on Chiphell forums alleges.

It has been a while since the last rumored launch date for RTX 3090 Ti has been shared. This model is NVIDIA’s upcoming enthusiast SKU featuring the full GA102 GPU silicon combined with faster 24 GB and 21 Gbps GDDR6X memory. It is reported that NVIDIA has now set a launch date for this model to March 29th, after failing to deliver updates for exactly 2 months now.

The message goes further by explaining the possible reason for the card delay as a memory-related problem. Among many possible reasons for the delay, such as hardware/BIOS related, we have been told there were difficulties with the memory stability under some very specific scenarios. Based on the Chiphell post, it is assumed that the issue required a complete replacement of the memory in order to fix this issue.

Furthermore, the post claims that NVIDIA is scraping its plans for RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB, which had appeared in multiple rumors and leaks in the past. This model was expected to compete with upcoming Intel Arc A780 GPU, supposedly featuring 16 GB memory as well.

This is in fact the first report on the not-yet-released RTX 3090 Ti since early January when the card was first presented at CES 2022. We have not been able to confirm this rumor yet, however, we will provide an update should something change (again).
