Intel's about to revolutionise the gaming laptop market

Today's going to be a big day for the discrete GPU market. Intel's entering the market, ending the Nvidia/AMD duopoly with their new ARC series of discrete graphics chips and their Alchemist architecture.

At 4 PM BST, Intel will be revealing their ARC graphics family for laptops. Intel has confirmed that desktop and workstation graphics chips will be coming later this year, with Intel's ARC series arriving on mobile platforms first. The laptop market is where Intel believes that they can make the largest market share gain, and today, Intel will be showing us what makes their GPUs special.

Today, we hope that Intel will discuss the performance of their graphics chips, their AI-powered XeSS upscaling technology, and the many features that will make Intel ARC worth considering over Nvidia's Geforce and AMD's RDNA 2 offerings. With ARC, Intel's focusing on both gamers and creators, which means that ARC should have a few tricks up its sleeve for workstation and content creation workloads.

We are officially launching our Intel® Arc graphics family for laptops, completing the Intel platform. These are the first discrete GPUs from our graphics portfolio for laptops, with our desktop and workstation products coming later this year.

You can join the discussion on Intel's ARC Alchemist graphics reveal on the OC3D Forums .
