An optimised SSD heatsink for PlayStation 5

Silverstone has launched an SSD heatsink that is optimised for PlayStation 5
If you are buying an SSD for PlayStation 5, you should already know that your SSD needs a compatible heatsink to run optimally. Simply put, Sony's PlayStation 5 design leaves little room for airflow, and adding a heatsink to your system's SSD expansion will limit potential thermal issues.
If you have ever installed a heatsink on an M.2 SSD, you will know that heatsink installation can be a difficult and nerve-racking process. Nobody wants to accidentally break their expensive M.2 SSD, and SSDs with pre-installed heatsinks tend to ship with a major price premium.
SilverStone has now created a solution that makes PS5 SSD installation simpler, using an optimised heatsink design that is purpose-built for PlayStation 5 and replaced the system's SSD cover. This solution gives SilverStone's heatsink more thermal mass and surface area than most other PS5-compatible heatsinks. Beyond that, this heatsink is also very simple to install.
To install this heatsink, PS5 users much install a heatsink-less M.2 SSD within their PlayStation 5 console and then install SilverStone's heatsink cover instead of the PS5's M.2 heatsink cover. The thermal pad on SilverStone's heatsink should make contact with your M.2 SSD, connecting the heatsink to your SSD.
SilverStone's TP06 is a simple heatsink design that ships with a thermal pad and all required screws. SilverStone has also added a small screwdriver to their package to make things even simpler for users.
We expect SilverStone's TP06 SSD heatsink to arrive at retailers soon. Sadly, SilverStone has not provided us with the pricing of their PS5 SSD heatsink solution.

Avet| Would be interesting if someone released a modified plate with a cut out for both the fans and the SSD heatsink to improve air flow. |
