AMD's new budget-oriented Ryzen 4000 and Ryzen 5000 series processors have now launched in the UK
Five new Ryzen processors have entered the UK market, arriving first through Scan to offer PC builders better value offerings than AMD's existing lineup. The highlights of this launch include AMD's Ryzen 7 5700X, a value-oriented octo-core processors, and AMD's Ryzen 5 5600, a value-oriented hex-core processor.
When compared to AMD's older Ryzen 7 5800X and Ryzen 5 5600X processors, AMD's new Ryzen 7 5700X and Ryzen 5 5600 models ship with minor clock speed reductions and significant price decreases. For the Ryzen 5 5600, users can save £30 over buying a Ryzen 5 5600X, and Ryzen 7 5700X users can save around £40 when compared to a Ryzen 7 5800X at most retailers. Simply put, these new processors deliver AMD customers better value for money at the cost of relatively small clock speed decreases.
Below AMD's Ryzen 5 5600 is the Ryzen 5 5500, another hex-core processor that features AMD's Zen 3 architecture and a UK price tag of £144.98. This processor is roughly £35 cheaper than the Ryzen 5 5600, but it features half as much L3 cache. Clock speeds between these two models are similar, but gaming workloads will have their performance hampered by the processor's lower L3 cache size. That said, the non-split nature of this L3 cache will give each of the Ryzen 5 5500's cores similar L3 cache access as a Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 5 3600X. While more L3 cache would have been ideal, it should offer better gaming performance than a Ryzen 5 3600X.
| Cores/ Threads | Base/ | Arch | L3+L2 Cache | PCIe | TDP | Cooler | Price (US SEP) | UK Price (Scan UK) | |
| Ryzen 7 5800X3D | 8/16 | 3.4/ 4.5 | Zen 3 | 96+4 MB | PCIe 4.0 | 65W | N/A | $449 | - |
| Ryzen 7 5700X | 8/16 | 3.4/ 4.6 | Zen 3 | 32+4 MB | PCIe 4.0 | 65W | Wraith Stealth | $299 | £269.99 |
| Ryzen 5 5600 | 6/12 | 3.5/ 4.4 | Zen 3 | 32+3 MB | PCIe 4.0 | 5W | Wraith Stealth | $199 | £179.99 |

| Ryzen 5 4600G | 6/12 | 3.7/ 4.2 | Zen 2 | 8+3 MB | PCIe 3.0 | 65W | Wraith Stealth | $154 | - |
| Ryzen 5 4500 | 6/12 | 3.6/ 4.1 | Zen 2 | 8+3 MB | PCIe 3.0 | 65W | Wraith Stealth | $129 | £119.99 |
| Ryzen 3 4100 | 4/8 | 3.8/ 4.0 | Zen 2 | 4+3 MB | PCIe 3.0 | 65W | Wraith Stealth | $99 | £89.99 |
Below AMD's ne Ryzen 5000 series offerings are new Ryzen 4000 series Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3 models. These new CPUs offer users less L3 cache, lower performing Zen 2 cores and much lower price points. These CPUs are AMD's new low cost models, catering to the £90-£120 CPU market.
All of these new Ryzen processors are now available to order or pre-order from Scan UK.
