A high-end GPU at MSRP pricing? What!
A lot has changed over the past few months, graphics card pricing has tumbled, and now many high-end GPU models are available at reduced prices. The era pf high GPU pricing appears to be coming to an end, which is great news for the gaming market.
Today, Sapphire's RX 6900 XT Nitro+ SE OC model has become available in the UK for under £1,000. That's close to the MSRP pricing of AMD's reference models, which is a big deal for a premium RX 6900 XT model. At Overclockers UK, this graphics card is now available for £999.95 .
AMD's flagship graphics card is now available for under £1,000. It has been a long time since we have been able to say that. The mining boom has ended, GPUs appear to no longer be in short supply, and as a result prices are normalising.
On the lower end of the AMD spectrum, there are multiple Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics cards that are now available for £548.99 at Overclockers UK. This includes Sapphire's RX 6700 XT Pulse model , MSI's RX 6700 XT Mech 2x model and PowerColor's RX 6700 XT Hellhound model . Across the spectrum, AMD's GPU pricing is getting lower.
In the coming months, market forces should continue to decrease the prices of new and used graphics cards. Next-generation graphics cards are expected to arrive from AMD and Nvidia later this year, replacing today's high-end products with newer, stronger offerings. Retailers will want to move their current-generation stock before this happens, and that means that pricing should get better over the next few months. That said, now is a great time to buy a new graphics card, at least when compared to last year.
