Sony's latest job listing proves that Sony's relationship with PC gamers is long-term

Sony's found a lot of success on PC in recent years, with God of War, Days Gone, and Horizon: Zero Dawn all proving to be successful PlayStation-to-PC conversions. Later this year, Sony plans to bring Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection to PC, bringing one of Sony's largest IPs to the platform.

Last year, Sony formed "PlayStation PC", a publishing label for the company's future PC efforts. Now, Sony's planning to hire a Senior Director for "PC Planning and Strategy", further proving that PlayStation's plans within the PC market are long-term in nature.

While Sony has no plans to enhance its PC offerings at the expense of their PlayStation console brand (Don't expect PC games to launch at the same day as their PS4/5 counterparts), we expect to see more of Sony's games launch on PC over the coming years. We expect more PlayStation 4 classics to arrive on PC soon (Bloodborne please!), and also expect PlayStation 5 games to arrive on PC within the next few years. Sony knows that they can further monetise their games by launching their AAA releases on PC, and knowing that, they would be foolish to leave that money on the table.

Sony's new Senior Director for "PC Planning and Strategy" will " be responsible for the strategy and commercial activity within Global Channel sales and will deliver a single, optimized PC Sales growth and commercial plan to hub and territory teams to implement." In short, applicants for this job are expected to realise Sony's growth targets within the PC gaming market.

Within their job listing, Sony has mentioned that PlayStation desires " PC growth, strategy, and sales execution though global PC store fronts", referencing PC storefronts like Steam and the Epic Games Store. As it stands, it looks like Sony has no plans to launch their own PC gaming storefront, which is great news for PC gamers who hate installing new launchers.
