STALKER 2's development has reportedly resumed following GSC Game World's move to Prague

Speaking on the game's official Discord channel, developers have reportedly confirmed that STALKER 2's development has resumed. In response to a fan's question regarding the game's development has resumed, a simple response was given stating that "it continues". This information was first spotted by the Polish website GRYOnline .

STALKER 2 was originally due to release in December 2022, but Russia's invasion of Ukraine forced the game's development to be paused. STALKER 2's development was based in Kyiv, Ukraine's capitol city, which has been repeatedly targeted by Russian forces during their invasion. STALKER 2's development team has reportedly been moved to Prague over the past few months, allowing the game's development to continue despite the war.

After Russia's war against Ukraine started, GSC Game World changed the name of STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl to STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, replacing the Russian spelling to Chornobyl to Ukraine's native spelling for the region.

At this time, it is unknown when STALKER 2 will launch, or how the game's development is going in Prague. Gamers should assume that STALKER 2 will not be arriving on PC and consoles this year. It is unknown when STALKER 2 will next be showcased.
