Chieftec Unveils CM-25B-OP Case with a Large Number of Exposed Drive Bays

Spin discs like it's 2008 with the new CM-25B-OP, a new ATX mid-tower case by Chieftec that offers five exposed drive bays, four of which are 5.25-inch and one 3.5-inch. The case is possibly targeted at workstation builds with a number of optical disc drives, custom front-panels, internal card readers, and more. The case combines chrome-finish 0.7 mm SECC steel with ABS front panels, and takes the Y2K aesthetic even up to the top-oriented PSU bay.

Inside, right below the large, tool-free 5.25-inch drive bay, you'll find a couple of concealed 3.5-inch bays. The only ventilation options on offer are a 120 mm front intake, and a 120 mm rear exhaust. Perhaps the only bit of modernity in this case is its pair of USB 3.x type-A front-panel ports that sit next to a pair of USB 2.0 ports and HDA jacks. The motherboard tray serves up room for graphics cards up to 28 cm in length, which expands to 40 cm with the internal 3.5-inch drive cage removed; and CPU coolers up to 16.5 cm in height. The case measures 490 mm x 198 mm x 437 mm (DxWxH). The company didn't reveal pricing.
