AYN Loki handheld gaming console to feature Intel Alder Lake CPU for $299, AMD Zen3+/RDNA2 for $499

AYN Loki with AMD Ryzen 6000 CPU?

A relatively new company in the handheld gaming space is claiming to be working on a next-gen Windows console featuring AMD APU.

AYN had a success with Odin console, which is an ARM based system supporting Android and Windows for ARM. That low-power device had no way of competing with powerful Windows gaming consoles from OneXplayer, Ayaneo or Valve. However, with the new announcement, this could change in the future.

AYN announced ‘ The Most Affordable Windows Handhelds Ever Created ‘. It’s a plural form because the family of AYN Loki consoles will feature as many as five different specs and devices. The cheapest model called Loki Mini would cost just $299, and it would feature an Intel Alder Lake processor. The company is not confirming which SoC exactly would this device have.

A bit more expensive Loki and Loki Max will feature AMD Zen3+ architecture and RDNA2 graphics. This likely means Ryzen 6000U series, just like AYANEO 2. The most interesting part here is the pricing. The AMD version would cost $499 for 64GB storage, $599 for 256GB, $699 for 512 GB and $799 for a Max edition with 512GB space. The company did not clarify what the Max variant has, but it’s probably more powerful SoC or better screen.

The Odin console made a debut on the crowdfunding platform, which is where the AYN Loki consoles will probably make theirs. The Steam Deck is now available for as little as $349 and features AMD Zen2 CPU alongside RDNA2 graphics.

One thing is sure though, the gaming console market with AMD hardware is growing by the day.
