Three GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1630 graphics cards appear on EEC website

Gigabyte preps three GeForce GTX 1630 graphics cards

It appears that the launch of GTX 1630 finally approaching.

We have been covering the topic of NVIDIA’s first GTX xx30 class graphics card supposedly based on TU117-150 GPU. This model is a cut-down version of the GTX 1650 graphics card with even fewer cores (1650 already has partially disabled GPU) and half of the memory bus.

According to the new entry to Eurasian Economic Commission regulatory office, Gigabyte is now preparing as many as three models based on this SKU:

  • GV-N1630OC-4GB
  • GV-N1630OC-4GL
  • GV-N1630D6-4GL

Most GeForce GTX 1630 graphics cards will reportedly be based on the same design as GTX 1650, because both SKUs are targeted for the same TDP which is 75W. The OC models as listed above may indicate that these cards will require more power and as a result, external power connectors.

The list also confirms that all three have 4 GB GDDR6 memory, except GTX 1630 is equipped with 64-bit memory bus. This will severely limit the bandwidth to just 96 GB/s. A wider bus would have helped GTX 1630 surpass GTX 1050 Ti in terms of performance. At this stage, this card performs worse than the 2016 Pascal model, which is reportedly being replaced by this new GTX 1630 SKU.

The launch date of GTX 1630 is currently listed as ‘TBD’, which means NVIDIA is yet to provide the updated launch schedule. This SKU was originally planned for May 31st and then June 15th, both dates were scrapped at the very last moment.
