Dragon's Dogma 2 is in development using the RE Engine

After over a decade after launch, Capcom has confirmed that Dragon's Dogma is getting a sequel, with series director Hideaki Itsuno once again taking control of the franchise.

During Capcom's 10-year anniversary mini documentary on Dragon's Dogma, Hideaki Itsuno revealed that Dragon's Dogma 2 is in development, and that the game will be making use of Capcom's RE Engine.

Capcom's RE Engine has already been used to create a large number of Capcom games, including every new Resident Evil game since 2017's Resident Evil 7, Devil May Cry 5, and Monster Hunter: Rise. The engine is also currently being used to create Street Fighter 6, Exoprimal, Pragmata, and Resident Evil 4. The engine is incredibly versatile and has the ability to create fantastic looking games, though it remains to be seen how well the engine will cope when used to create an RPG like Dragon's Dogma II.

Sadly, little is known about Dragon's Dogma II aside from the engine it uses. The game has no confirmed platforms, or a confirmed release date, though it is likely that the game will be current-generation only.
