Rumor alleges that AMD’s next-gen desktop platform will launch with four Ryzen SKUs

According to AMD hardware leaker Greymon55, the company is set to introduce its first 5 nm desktop lineup featuring four Ryzen processors. This lineup would include successors for the same parts that were introduced in 2020 in the initial launch of Ryzen 5000 series.

The new series would be led by Ryzen 9 7950X, most likely the flagship part featuring 16 cores and 32 threads. This could be the first Ryzen CPU with TDP of 170W. Last month AMD confirmed that such TDP will be applied to high-end Zen4 desktop SKUs, but the company is yet to confirm which parts specifically.

Furthermore, the initial lineup would include 7900X, 7800X and 7600X. There would be no 7700X part at launch though. Interestingly the same lineup was introduced with Ryzen 5000 “Vermeer” series back in November 2020, where the Ryzen 7 5700X was also missing.

The same leaker also provided a suggested retail price for Ryzen 9 7950XT however this tweet has since then removed. He noted that this SKU might cost 5999 RMB, which is actually less than MSRP of 5950X at launch (6049 RMB). One should note, however, that pricing rumors are almost never accurate, especially three months in advance.
