HP Launches S750 SATA SSD
HP has decided to enter the entry-level SSD business with its latest S750 SATA III SSD. With its SSDs being manufacturing by Biwin, HP is just marketing the product under its name. So what does this new SSD offer? Under the hood are unspecified 96-layer 3D NAND chips powering the SSD. At the heart of it is an SSD controller called HP H6578, which is made by Silicon Motion. The new SSD comes in three sizes: 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB. While the company didn't reveal the pricing of any of these models, we know that they come with a 3-year warranty. Since it is an entry-level model for SSDs, the pricing shouldn't be too different from current market offerings. The SSDs feature 560 MB/s sequential read, and 520 MB/s sequential write performance. At idle, the SSD consumes 0.41 W and at load, the 1 TB version will consume a maximum of 2.29 W of power.
