Intel i9-13900K benchmarked with 5.5GHz boost speeds
Intel's 13th generation i9-13900K processor has been benchmarked on Geekbench, highlighting the performance of Intel's next-generation flagship. The i9-13900K is due to supplant the i9-12900K later this year, and if this benchmark listing is anything to go by, the i9-13900K will boost to clock speeds of 5.5GHz.
With a single-threaded score of 2,133 and a multi-threaded score of 23,701, Intel's i9-13900K is capable of delivering 7% faster single-threaded performance than an i9-12900K and 37% higher multi-threaded performance, at least when compared to Geekbench's official CPU rankings. This benchmark result also confirms that Intel's i9-13900K is a 24-core 32-thread processor, which means that the i9-13900K has eight P-cores and 16 E-cores. That's two times as many E-Cores as an i9-12900K.
Is Raptor Lake much better than Alder Lake?
With a 7% increase in single-threaded performance, Intel's Raptor Lake i9-13900K processor isn't delivering an earthshattering result. Even so, 7% gains are notable, especially when the i9-13900K also delivers higher levels of multi-threaded performance with its increased E-core count.
With its single-threaded score of 2,133 and a multi-threaded score of 23,701, Intel's leaked Raptor Lake benchmark results easily surpass AMD's Ryzen 9 5950X, which is ranked as having a single-threaded score of 1,686 and a multi-threaded score of 16,508. AMD's upcoming Ryzen 7000 series Zen 4 CPUs will need to deliver huge performance gains to surpass Intel's Raptor Lake i9-13900K in Geekbench 5.
Intel's 13th Generation Raptor Lake series processors are due to launch later this year alongside new Intel 700-series motherboards. AMD is expected to launch their Ryzen 7000 series CPUs within a similar timeframe, setting up late 2022 as a CPU battle zone.
