Intel Arc A770M and A550M finally enter testing stage, first 3DMark scores emerge

Intel might launch its high-end Alchemist mobile soon

Hardware leaker @_rogame discovered first 3DMark entries featuring Intel’s yet unreleased Arc A770M/A550M GPUs.

Intel Arc Alchemist mobile series have thus far only seen a partial launch in China. This is slowly beginning to change as Intel brings its A370M entry-level GPUs to other markets, however the more powerful variants based on the bigger Alchemist GPU: A550M, A730M and A770M are still hard to find.

Rogame’s leak features A550M and A770M GPUs in 3DMark software. Unfortunately both results leave more questions than answers, but this means that these cards have now entered testing stage, which further suggest that the launch should be a matter of weeks, not months.

A550M much slower than A730M

The A550M SKU featuring half of the ACM-G10 GPU cores (16 Xe-Cores) scored 6017 points in 3DMark Time Spy using older 1726 driver. Unfortunately this test was run with Intel APO (Advanced Performance Optimizations) enabled, which basically renders it invalid as per 3DMark rules.

Based on what we saw earlier, APO means around 15% better score. On the other hand, compared to A730M with APO (as tested here ) shows that A730M is still 67% faster than A550M with 50% more cores.

A770M as good as RTX 3070M in 3DMark (only)

Now when it comes to Intel Arc A770M, it was tested in Fire Strike Extreme where scored 13244 points in Graphics. This is in fact about the same score as RTX 3070 Laptop GPU running with the same CPU (Core i7-12700H) based on the data in 3DMark database (picture below). This discrete GPU has been tested with a test driver (version 9999) typically used OEMs and system integrators before launching new hardware. But it is unclear if APO is enabled in this version specifically.

It should be noted though that A770M official performance has already been confirmed by Intel. This card should be 12% faster than RTX 3060M in games on average. Therefore, leaked 3DMark scores are again completely off with real-world gaming tests where Intel clearly still has a lot of optimizations to do.
