Hogwarts Legacy is now launching in 2023

Warner Brothers Games has confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed until February 10th 2023, which means that the game will be missing its planned Holiday 2022 release window. Currently, the game is expected to release on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on February 10th, with the game's planned Nintendo Switch version having an unconfirmed release date.

Hogwarts Legacy is a game that is based in the Harry Potter universe, an open-world action RPG that's based in the 1800s, long before the birth of Harry Potter or Tom Riddle. Players are students in Hogwarts that hold the key to an ancient secret that has the potential to tear apart the wizarding world. Throughout the game players will make alliances, battle dark wizards, and hone their magical abilities to become the Witch or Wizard that they choose to be.

Hogwarts Legacy is a single player game that is coming to current-generation and last-generation console platforms. Warner Brothers Games have confirmed that the game will not feature micro-transactions or online-co-op. The game is being developed by Avalanche Software using Unreal Engine 5.

Warner Brothers Games have confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy's delay will give Avalanche Games more time to deliver and polish their game, stating that "we need a little more time to deliver the best possible game experience". Let's hope that this delay has given Hogwarts Legacy's developers enough time to achieve these goals.
