XIII's Remake is looking much better in the game's new PlayStation 5 trailer
Let's face it, XIII's remake is horrendous. There's a reason why the game is currently rated as "Overwhelmingly Negative" on Steam, and why the game's publisher, Microids, has decided to hire a new developer to fix the game post-launch.
On September 13th, Microid's lacklustre remake of XIII is getting a patch that will overhaul the entire game, enhancing the game's AI, refining the game's art style, and finally delivering the game's planned multiplayer mode.
Today, a new trailer for XIII has dropped, showcasing the remake's new and refined PlayStation 5 version, which runs at 60 FPS and comes with art style improvements that make the game look a lot more like the original. That said, XIII's new visuals are are far cry from the comic book stylings of the original.
Below is what Microids had to say about their remake of XIII when they announced their revamp patch back in June. Tower Five is the developer behind XIII's upgrade patch, and they are still working to revamp XIII's visuals, audio, and more ahead of the game's relaunch next month.
To achieve the quality standards and offer an optimal gaming experience, Microids decided to entrust the development of XIII Remake to the French studio Tower Five (Lornsword: Winter Chronicle). Hard at work for more than a year on a major update. This update will be released on September 13th.
On that date, owners of the game will receive a free update and enjoy the game as intended. The development studio reworked the entire game from the Art Direction to the AI and added numerous technical improvements.
Alongside the game's overhaul patch, XIII's remake will also be coming to Nintendo's Switch console and run at 30 FPS. For owners of current-generation consoles, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, the game will be updated to support these new platforms with 60 FPS modes.
