The SEGA Mega Drive Mini 2 is coming, and it will include a lot more games than the original

The SEGA Mega Drive Mini will be available to pre-order next month in Europe with 60 included games
After the success of the SEGA Mega Drive Mini, SEGA didn't decide to make a miniaturised Saturn or Dreamcast. While we would have loved that, SEGA decided to create an improved Mega Drive Mini 2 system that incudes more games, and a suite of other improvements.
European Pre-orders for SEGA's Mega Drive Mini II are starting next month, and SEGA has confirmed that the system will include 60 games at launch, which includes 12 SEGA-CD games and a selection of bonus games that were never released on the Mega Drive.
Bonus games include classics like Space Harrier 2, and a new port of Fantasy Zone. Mega-CD games include Sonic CD, Shining Force CD, Ecco The Dolphin, and Final Fight CD. In total, the system includes 41 Mega Drive games, 12 SEGA-CD games, and seven bonus games. A full list of supported games is at the base of this article.
The SEGA Mega Drive Mini II will ship with a 6-button control pad and strangely, the system will not include Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and many other games that the original Mega Drive Mini included.
The SEGA Mega Drive 2 will be available to pre-order in Europe in September, with the unit already being available to pre-order in Japan and the US. Currently, the system is due to ship to Japanese customers in October and there is no official release date for the system in the west.
