AMD's Ryzen 7 7700X is delivering impressive performance levels in Cinebench R20
Thanks to the Chinese hardware reviewer Extreme Player , we have gotten a look at AMD's upcoming Ryzen 7 7700X processor in Cinebench R20. These results represent significant performance gains over AMD's older Ryzen 5000 series processors, which is great news for AMD and their Zen 4 architecture.
With a single-threaded score of 773 and a multi-threaded score of 7701, AMD's Ryzen 7 7700X 8-core Zen 4 processor appears to be 25% faster than a Ryzen 7 5800X in terms of single-threaded performance and around 26% faster in multi-threaded performance. These are impressive gains for AMD's Zen 4 processor, especially if these gains can be applied to other workloads.
When compared to Intel, AMD's Ryzen 7 7700X appears to deliver single-threaded performance levels that are similar to an overclocked i9-12900K processor, achieving the same performance as our original i9-12900K review sample ( see here ). With higher-end Ryzen 7000 series processors being expected to feature higher clock speeds than AMD's Ryzen 7 7700X, we can expect AMD's highest-end Ryzen 7000 series processors to beat Intel's Alder Lake series CPUs to best Intel's i9-12900K in Cinebench's single-threaded test. That said, Intel has 13th Generation Raptor Lake processors on the horizon.
If the scores above are to be believed, AMD should be able to deliver strong performance gains with their Ryzen 7000 series processors. That said, it is unknown how well these performance gains will translate into other workloads.
AMD plans to reveal their Ryzen 7000 series processors on August 29th, which means that hardware enthusiasts will not have to wait long to see what AMD has in store for us with Zen 4.
