Microsoft currently has no plans to increase Xbox Series X/S pricing

This week, Sony increased the pricing of their PlayStation 5 consoles in most global regions, making the gaming system up to 20% more expensive in some regions. In their announcement for these price hikes, Sony cited economic pressures and inflation as the primary reason behind their decision to increase the price of their latest console.

Since Sony's announcement, many have wondered how Microsoft would respond to Sony's rising console prices. Would Microsoft follow Sony's lead, or would Microsoft take a different path? Now, Microsoft has commented on Sony's price increases, stating simply that their Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S prices remain unchanged.

Below is a comment that Microsoft made to Windows Central .

We are constantly evaluating our business to offer our fans great gaming options. Our Xbox Series S suggested retail price remains at $299 (£250, €300) the Xbox Series X is $499 (£450, €500).

While Microsoft has not guaranteed that they will never increase the price of their Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S systems, it is encouraging to see that Microsoft currently does not plan to make their current-generation gaming systems more expensive.

The world is facing a huge number of financial troubles, and gamers the world over will be glad to know that Microsoft does not plan to make their latest gaming system any more expensive. Simply put, nobody wants to see gaming become more expensive.
