Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest reigning monarch, has died
It is with great sorrow that we inform you today of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, who died peacefully today at Balmoral. With her death comes the end of an era for Britain, a 70 year reign that saw great change across the UK, the Commonwealth, and the world.
We have been told that the Queen's children had all travelled to Balmoral after doctors placed the Queen under medical supervision. The Queen's Grandson, Prince William, is currently at Balmoral, and his brother, Prince Harry, is currently on his way there.
Upon her death, Charles, the now former Prince of Wales, has become King Charles III. Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the King and his wife, the Queen Consort, will remain in Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.

The Queen came to the throne in 1952, her reign has lasted 70 years and has taken the UK from the post-war era, from Empire to Commonwealth, though the Cold War and into the modern era. For many within the UK and the Commonwealth, the Queen was a person who was always there, be it tough times, or times of relative prosperity.
I may not be the most patriotic of Brits, but the news of the Queen's death saddens me. I do not know how to describe my feelings, aside from saying that a great constant has now been removed. The Queen was always there, a head of state that has lead the nation over the lifetime of most Britons. Her reign was so long that it it older than myself and my parents. My Grandparents were children when she came to take the throne. Today, the UK's second Elizabethan era has ended, and a new Caroline era has begun.
This year, the Queen celebrated her Platinum Jubilee, and to end this article I have decided to share something that was made to celebrate that occasion. I feel that it showcases the Queen's fun side, and why many consider her the "Grandmother of the nation".
Rest in Peace your majesty, and thank you for your service.
