Intel GPU Chief confirms Arc A770 is getting ready for launch

Intel GPU Chief on Arc: we had obstacles, but we persisted

Raja Koduri finally commented on Arc GPU launch, which has seen numerous delays over the past few months.

The GPU Chief at Intel confirmed that the team is working hard to launch Arc GPUs and there were indeed more obstacles than planned. But those are over as Arc A770 GPU is now being validated for launch at Intel labs.

The company is now facing a tougher situation as the market is saturated with mid-range second hand GPUs from miners and much cheaper NVIDIA RTX 30 and AMD RX 6000 cards. To make matters worse, both competitors are about to announce their new products.

On a plus side, neither AMD nor NVIDIA are expected to introduce mid-range GPUs at new series launch of the new series, such solutions should be expected maybe next year. This means that Intel still has some time to convince buyers to choose Arc GPUs, and still a chance to announce them at much better prices than competitors, which is something that Intel has been hinting on for a while.

we are 🤷‍♂️ about these rumors as well. They don’t help the team working hard to bring these to market, they don’t help the pc graphics community..one must wonder, who do they help?..we are still in first gen and yes we had more obstacles than planned to ovecome, but we persisted…
