Inquiry finds Australia's Star unfit to run Sydney casino

SYDNEY -- The outlook for Australia's second-largest casino operator has been thrown into doubt after an inquiry concluded that Star Entertainment Group is "not suitable" to hold a gaming license for its flagship casino in Sydney.

The finding by senior lawyer Adam Bell, that Star's Sydney casino had disguised gambling withdrawals as hotel expenses and allowed money laundering to take place inside private rooms, was released by the New South Wales Independent Casino Commission on Tuesday.
