Virgin Media O2's set to give their broadband customers a major speed boost over the coming months

As reported by ISP Review , Virgin Media O2 are preparing to give many of their existing customers a hefty broadband speed boost next month. Starting November 1st, at no additional charge, Virgin Media O2 are set to boost the speeds of their M100 and M200 broadband customers, delivering a 25% speed boost for these customers.

Virgin Media 02's M100 broadband class will become M125, while M200 will become M250, offering users 125Mbps and 250 Mbps download speeds respectively. Upload speeds are also expected to increase with these new broadband classifications, though these speeds are expected to maintain the normal 10:1 download to upload ratio that Virgin Media O2 typically adheres to.

ISP Review has also Reported that Virgin Media O2 are upgrading their network to deliver increase speeds to all of their other broadband packages in the future. Beyond that, the company is also reportedly working on increased upload speeds for their broadband network, a move that will address one of the major downsides of the company's broadband services. Faster upload speeds will be very useful for many of the company's customers, especially those who work from home with large files.
