Expect higher framerates, higher resolutions, and more from Fallout 4's "Next-Gen" update
Bethesda Game Studios has revealed that Fallout 4 is getting a "Next-Gen" update for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, adding new quality features to the game, higher framerate support, new bug fixes, and bonus Creation Club content.
With Fallout 4's planned update, owners of the game on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 will be able to enjoy enhanced versions of the game when Bethesda's planned update arrives in 2023. At this time, Bethesda has not detailed everything that is coming to Fallout 4, though we know that the game will be updated support "high framerates" with a "performance mode" on consoles, and that the game will have "quality features for 4K resolution gameplay".
Below is what Bethesda Softworks had to say about Fallout 4's "Next-gen" update.
Prepare for the future: A next-gen update is coming to Fallout 4! Coming in 2023, this free update will be available for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC systems, including performance mode features for high frame rates, quality features for 4K resolution gameplay, bug fixes and even bonus Creation Club content!
With the game's next-generation patch, Fallout 4 is expected to look and play better than ever on PC and consoles. Sadly, we do not know exactly when Fallout 4's next-gen update, be it in early, mid, or late 2023. I guess Bethesda doesn't want to commit to a release date at this time; possibly to ensure that the patch does not interfere with Starfield's planned 2023 launch.
