AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs get new packaging design, lower prices still here

New look, new price? — AMD refreshes desktop CPU packaging

As part of their Holiday Deals, AMD is at present offering Ryzen 7000 series at discounted prices.

The Black Week and Cyber Monday deals may be over, but AMD Ryzen 7000 prices are still as good as they were 2 weeks ago. The official webstore banner has now changed to ‘Holiday Deals’, which could mean that those prices might be here to stay for the whole holiday shopping season.

Here is a reminder that AMD lowered the price on their Ryzen 7000 series as early as 2 weeks ago. The wave of massive discounts reaching as high as 20% have started in China, and were quickly followed by European and US retailers. At the time of writing, AMD Ryzen 7000 series are still offered at lower prices.

The flagship 16-core Zen4 desktop CPU, the Ryzen 9 7950X was offered for as low as $550 through Amazon, unfortunately this offer is no longer available (but AMD store still shows it is the lowest price). The good news is that Ryzen 9 7900X which is a 12-core SKU is still available at $440. The pricing for 8-core 7700X and 6-core 7600X is just as good as it was 2 weeks ago, at $350 and $250 respectively.

Another thing that some customers have already noticed is the new packaging. The outline on AMD iconic logo is thicker and more eye-catching. From the looks of it, all major stores (including the official store) have already implemented the new box design. One should definitely not worry that the Ryzen CPU box looks different now.
