Most exciting with today's PipeWire 0.3.62 release is now supporting Bluetooth offloading. The Bluetooth offloading support allows for Bluetooth reception, decoding, and playback to happen completely within the hardware. This offloading support for better CPU efficiency also requires support by WirePlumber for handling the offloading as well and hardware compatibility.
PipeWire 0.3.62 also fixes a screensharing regression, video transform metadata is added so that cameras and screen sharing can report their video orientation and transformations, and support for PulseAudio module-gsettings was added for paprefs compatibility.
PipeWire is to Linux software for audio/video as Goldmund is to the high-end hardware space.
