GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU shows 20% higher 3DMark performance than RTX 3060

NVIDIA RTX 4060 Laptop GPU tested in 3DMark

A screenshot from an alleged 3DMark benchmark featuring RTX 4060 mobile graphics has surfaced online.

The site that posted the screenshot has not revealed the source, but we can see that the laptop featured in this leak is from a Chinese laptop maker called ThundeRobot, who are using barebone systems.

The specifications of the GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU have not been confirmed yet, however the card is said to feature 8GB GDDR6 memory, most likely across a 128-bit memory bus. The TGP of this card will vary, but should not be lower than 85W and can go up to 140W with Dynamic Boost.

This AD107 based RTX 40 card has been tested alongside Intel Core i7-13700H processor, the latest 14-core SKU with default TDP of 45W. This processor boosts up to 5.0 GHz, meaning that it is definitely not a bottleneck in this system.

According to these results, the RTX 4060 Laptop GPU scores 10050 points in 3DMark TimeSpy Graphics. Assuming that this will be a common TGP spec for this GPU, then this discrete mobile card would end up 20% faster than average RTX 3060 Laptop GPU. At the same time, RTX 4060 would only be 5% slower than RTX 3070 Laptop GPU, but this may not tell us the full picture yet.

Both the RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 would feature wider memory bus (256 and 192-bit) than RTX 4060, so the 4060 may end up slower in benchmarks at higher resolution. Overall, the RTX 4060 is entering a very busy segment with lots of high-end mobile GPUs
