NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080’s new AD103-301 GPU has been pictured

NVIDIA RTX 4080 gets a new GPU revision

The 301 is a new revision for the AD103 GPU used by RTX 4080 graphics cards.

The change to AD103-301 GPU is nothing major, claims Chiphell member who posted a picture.

The original poster claims that this variant was available for ‘a long time’, however this is most likely referring to the Chinese market. NVIDIA has updated the GPU which means that board partners need to apply new BOM (Bill of Materials) to their custom and semi-custom designs.

It is said that this change has no effect on performance, it will improve stability and nothing else. This claim is likely related to the voltage comparator now integrated into the GPU, is no longer required on the PCB.

Thus far we only know about RTX 4080 and upcoming RTX 4070 getting these updated GPU variants. The change is likely to apply to RTX 4070 Ti as well, but there has been no confirmation on that yet. There is also no change for RTX 4090 planned as far as we know.
