Kishida expects to nominate new Bank of Japan chief in February

TOKYO -- Bank of Japan Gov. Haruhiko Kuroda will be replaced at the end of his term in April, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida confirmed in a TV program that aired Sunday, with the nomination for a successor likely to be submitted to parliament in February.

"There will be a change in personnel," Kishida said in a Nikkei public affairs program. "The personnel decision will be carefully considered and submitted to parliament."
