Ray Tracing is coming to Watch Dogs Legion's Xbox Series X/S versions

Watch Dogs Legion is due to release on October 29th, on current-generation platforms, and launch with Xbox Series X/S on November 10th. With both of Microsoft's next-generation consoles, Ubisoft has confirmed that Watch Dogs Legion will feature support for ray tracing, which will come in the form of real-time ray-traced reflections.

Before now, ray-traced reflections was due to be available on PC exclusively, but now we know that the feature is coming to next-generation consoles. At this time, it is unknown whether or not the feature will be available on PlayStation 5, though at this time support seems likely.

On Xbox Series X/S, Watch Dogs Legion will also benefit from using Microsoft's DirectStorage API to enable faster load times. These changes will allow PC gamers to enter Watch Dogs Legion faster than Xbox One users and benefit from enhanced visuals.

Ray-traced reflections will add extra depth to Watch Dogs Legions, replacing cubemap and screen space reflections with higher fidelity, accurate reflections. This is a big deal giving Watch Dog's Legion's city environments, as London features a lot of glass buildings, puddles and other reflective surfaces.

Oooh I'm excited for the results of DirectStorage. This will be the first title to launch with this I believe?

Also curious as to the RT results on the S. I can't imagine that tiny gpu has many RT cores lying around. Quote

Red Dead Redemption had lower settings than the lowest possible on PC. The same thing will happen with the new consoles too. Quote
