ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte reveal more details on GeForce RTX 3080 custom designs

ASUS RTX 3080 gets 19.5 Gbps memory

ASUS has quietly updated its GeForce RTX 3080 product pages with new memory information. ASUS’ cards would supposedly be the only RTX 3080 models on a market with factory-overclocked memory to 19.5 Gbps.

Interestingly, the company has still not disclosed the boost clock speeds for overclocked models (OC). It was, however, revealed that non-OC models are clocked at 1710 MHz out of the box (NVIDIA reference clock) and at 1740 MHz in OC mode (applied through software).

The 19.5 Gbps memory clock enables 780 GB/s maximum bandwidth on all ASUS RTX 3080 models (20GB/s more than reference specs). This applies to both TUF and ROG STRIX series including OC and non-OC models.

MSI RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO with 1815 MHz clock

MSI has confirmed the clock speed for its flagship GAMING X TRIO model. This graphics card is now the fastest RTX 3080 graphics on a market. Earlier this week we reported that EVGA FTW3 Ultra has an official boost clock of 1800 MHz. The MSI’s GAMING X TRIO is 15 MHz faster.

Interestingly the company also confirmed custom TDP at 340W (which is 20W higher than a reference).

Gigabyte RTX 3080 PCB leaks

Yuuki_Ans shared a picture of the custom Gigabyte RTX 30 series graphics card. Since the board has two memory modules missing, it is quite easy to guess that this is GeForce RTX 3080. This particular PCB should be used on EAGLE and GAMING series, the only series that has been fully revealed by Gigabyte (bar the clocks).

This might also be the first time we are seeing GA102-200 GPU in its actual final form. Some preproduction units or review samples carry a different codename of D20X-ES-A1. You can find a picture of such a GPU in our previous story .

Gigabyte has still not provided the full specifications for its RTX 3080 series. Only GAMING and EGALE series were seeded as review samples. The AORUS series (both Master and Xtreme) is expected to launch later.
