Best 2023 April Fools’ tech jokes: consoles, GPUs, RGB cat beds, fanless fans and mouses with razors

April Fools’ in full swing

Here are some products that will never be released.

ASUS ROG Ally console

This might be the best tech joke this year. An entertaining high-quality ad for a product that actually looks real, might fool many gamers. This console is supposedly running Windows operating system, and it uses the best AMD APU available. Should ASUS really release such a product, companies like AYANEO, OneXplayer and others, might just as well start lowering their pricing already (or increase it?).

NZXT GPU

This tech joke will never get old. NZXT has been teasing entering the GPU business for a long time, but there is just never a good time to announce it. For NZXT it April 1st is probably the best day to do it. They are showing an AI-generated image that could convince some, but definitely not any of the VC readers.

Even if this card was real, there is simply no way this PCIe interface would fit into any motherboard. However, the design is undoubtedly something we have not seen before. So, maybe one day?

Razer Razer to put your best ‘game face’

A product that could actually make a difference. A gaming mouse with build in razor/razer, just in case you forgot to shave your face before gaming. The mouse is battery powered and has RGB lighting (so just like Philips 9 series).

MSI energy drink

If there is something MSI still does not make, it’s probably something to eat. MSI wants gamers to feel energized and pumped for long gaming sessions with a sugar-free energy drink for ‘true gaming’.

AORUS RGB Cat Rest

Your gaming companion now has a dedicated place to rest. It does not have a warmer, which is what most cats like, but it can sit right on top of your case, so the perfect spot for a king of the gaming room. It that does not convince you (or your cat), the built-in RGB LEDs might.

BeQuiet fanless fan… with AI

Yes, you read that right. A bladeless fan that has AI to control the airflow and speed depending on an environment. Those fans look a lot like some home appliance air purifiers, so why wouldn’t this technology work in a PC?
