AMD RX 7900 XT drops to $779, GeForce RTX 40 and Radeon 7000 series now available at or below MSRP

NVIDIA RTX 40 and Radeon RX 7000 cards can now be found at MSRP

We have finally reached the point where all newly released GPUs have reached suggested retail price.

Under normal circumstances, we wouldn’t be making post about graphics cards reaching MSRP, but over the past 4 years the GPU market has changed dramatically. Not only the cards are much pricier than last-gen, the availability of new cards has remained a problem. However, the market situation has significantly improved over the past few months.

In the United States, customers can now easily find all GeForce RTX 40 and Radeon RX 7000 cards at or below MSRP. With the release of GeForce RTX 4070 non-Ti and Radeon RX 7900 XTX now reaching MSRP, there is no issue finding at least one card at MSRP from both lineups.

Naturally, the US market is different, and this situation is not mirrored by other regions. However, it is a sign that the GPU market is healing and may soon force both companies to consider releasing cheaper cards or alternatively lower the price, which is, in fact, already happening.

The Radeon RX 7900 XT announced at $899 has quickly dropped below $800 just a month ago. With the release of RTX 4070, first AMD board partner ASRock is now offering their custom Phantom Gaming card for $779, that’s a $120 or 13% discount.

The current-gen lineup from AMD and NVIDIA features only six desktop cards. We have rounded up the cheapest available cards in the US and there are certainly many to choose from. The most important addition is the RTX 4070 non-Ti still easily available at MSRP almost 3 days after launch. Although this post wouldn’t be possible if the RX 7900 XTX had not reached MSRP in late March.
