[email protected] gains CUDA support to deliver significant performance boosts
Thanks to the efforts of Nvidia's engineers, [email protected] has been updated to support CUDA, enabling significant increases in scientific throughput for users of Geforce graphics cards.
Avid Folders will be able to complete work units faster and generate more points per day (PPD) when using Nvidia-powered graphics cards, and know that they are completing the vial scientific calculations which will help scientists discover new treatments to cancer and other diseases.
[email protected] users will not need to update their [email protected] clients to benefit from this CUDA upgrade, though the [email protected] team has recommended that Nvidia users update their drivers to ensure compatibility. A 15-30% performance boost is expected in most GPU-based projects, though larger gains are possible for specific workloads.

With Core22 on COVID Moonshot projects, larger performance gains of 50%-100% are expected when using CUDA, delivering massive performance increases to users of Nvidia graphics cards.
[email protected] core22 0.0.13 will enable CUDA support on Fermi and newer Nvidia hardware, automatically using CUDA when possible. This new release will also include bug fixes and other new science features.
