ASUS ROG Ally to launch on June 13th
The console has official specs and pricing.
ASUS has confirmed the specs and release date for its handheld gaming console. As rumored, the first console to launch is the flagship version with Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip. This console will cost $699/€799, and it will start shipping on June 13th. The version with Ryzen Z1 will cost $599/€699, and it will be available starting from third quarter.
The ROG Ally is a Windows handheld console equipped with a powerful AMD Ryzen APU with Zen4 and RDNA3 architectures. It is ASUS first major attempt to deliver a capable battery-powered gaming product that can run major Windows titles with ease. The console has a seven inch 120Hz display that supports variable refresh rate. The screen also supports LFC (low frame compensation) as low as 30 FPS. This is an important feature for those who prefer longer playtime at a cost of lower visual quality.
According to the new information, the Ryzen Z1 series supports TDP from 7W to 35W. Such TDP range is not available with AMD Ryzen 7040U “Phoenix” series. The company also confirms clock speeds for the Ryzen Z1 APU series, which are up to 5.1 GHz for Extreme and 4.9 GHz for non-Extreme variant. The integrated graphics clock up to 2.7GHz and 2.5 GHz respectively. Furthermore, the console features 16GB of LPDDR5-6400 memory.

The reviews are already online, and it looks like there are some drawbacks, including battery life and UI glitches. However, the console is more powerful than Steam Deck and it is quieter.
