AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 “Storm Peak” gets early CPU-Z support
The software gets a first major update in 3 months.
The latest version of CPU-Z information and monitoring software carrying a number 2.06 has now been updated to support the latest Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA hardware. For Intel, this means support for some new Alder Lake-N SKUs and Xeon Sapphire Rapids data-center CPU series. NVIDIA RTX 4070 and 4060 Ti are now supported by the software as well.
CPU-Z developers have also added a lot of AMD’s new hardware. The Dragon Range (aka Raphael for laptops) Ryzen 7000HX series are now supported by the software, along with the just-released Radeon RX 7600 GPU. More importantly, there is a first update for Threadripper 7000 codenamed “Storm Peak”.
The software does not full support the upcoming HEDT series yet, chances are ‘preliminary’ simply means it can recognize the architecture but not specific SKUs. AMD did not confirm when would such CPUs launch, not to mention any specific SKUs.

According to ASUS, AMD could launch their Threadripper 7000 series in the second half of 2023, but there has been no official confirmation directly from AMD. The new series would require a new TR5 socket and new DDR5 memory. The underlying architecture has been upgraded to Zen4.
The product codenamed “Storm Peak” could once again be offered in WS (Workstation aka Threadripper PRO) and HEDT (consumer high-end desktop) designs. The latter would support up to quad-channel DDR5 memory and have 64 PCIe Gen5 lanes, while PRO would have those specs doubled.
