AMD Ryzen 8000 (Zen5) already being tested

BenchLeaks has spotted two entries featuring undisclosed AMD processors featuring a new CPU family ID, possibly belonging to the Zen5 architecture.

While it is unclear whether those results are real, we can clearly see the full OPN (AMD product number) for both processors, which are the same: “00-000001290-11_N”. Thus far, no Ryzen CPU had such a number and the latest known SKUs are Phoenix (Ryzen 7040HS). However, it is not the OPN number that one should focus on, but the Family ID of 26. The 25 (19H) was used for Zen3 and Zen4 architectures, while Family 24 (18H) included Zen2, Zen+ and Zen. The ID of 26 has not been used before, which strongly suggests a new architecture.

Both scores were spotted on distributed computing platforms, namely [email protected] and [email protected] featuring the same OPN code. It would seem that this CPU has a configuration of 8 cores and 16 threads. One of the systems was detected using Radeon RX 7900 GPU while the other entry shows an undisclosed Radeon Graphics coprocessor.

This is not the first time an engineering sample of next-gen AMD architecture has been seen on such platforms, so clearly someone at AMD is testing the capabilities of early silicon in all sorts of benchmarks. Luckily for us, some platforms leave a trace of such testing.
