Alleged AMD Navi 32 GPU pictured with four MCD dies

Navi 32 collecting dust at AMD HQ

With no formal announcement, AMD casually shows its next-gen GPU during an interview.

Forbes had a chance to talk to AMD CEO and President Lisa Su about the past and future of the company. This video is actually not very fresh, as we are looking at content published on May 31st. What is important is that the b-roll footage embedded into this video shows a product that has not been announced yet, namely the Navi 32 GPU. This was discovered by Hoang Anh Phu .

As we know, AMD has three graphics cards planned for the RDNA3 architecture: Navi 31, Navi 32 and Navi 33. The first processor is already deployed in Radeon RX 7900 high-end desktop series since late last year, while Navi 33 has just been introduced for laptops and desktop in a form of Radeon RX 7600 graphics card.

It was long speculated that Navi 32 will appear later, but AMD never even acknowledged working on such a design. In the Forbes video, the GPU appears alongside EPYC Genoa, Raphael, and Raphael X3D dies on a table, clearly showing a four memory (Infinity Cache) stacks around an undisclosed die.

A quick measurement, tells us it matches perfectly of what was rumored for months. The GDC (the graphics die in the center) measures around 200 mm², with the full GPU including four MCD dies going for around 350 mm².

According to the most recent information, Navi 32 is to feature up to 60 Compute Units combining 3840 Stream Processors. The third Navi 3X GPU is to feature a 256-bit memory bus, and it might be used by AMD for the Radeon RX 7800 series.
