Again, only one person shows up to buy GeForce RTX 4060 series GPU at launch in Japan

NVIDIA RTX 4060 series is a tough sell in Japan

Little to no interest from Japanese gamers.

This is neither a staged photograph nor a still from a Japanese manga. It really happened again. NVIDIA RTX 4060 non-Ti launch in Japan looks just as bad as May’s RTX 4060 Ti launch . Only one person showed up for this release at popular PC hardware chains to pick up RTX 4060 today in Japanese Akihabara shopping hub. The sale embargo always lifts at late hours in Japan (around 10 PM) and traditionally, there were long queues of gamers waiting to be the first owners of new graphics cards.

Over the course of a year, things have changed dramatically, though. There is no supply issue of any graphics card and gamers can easily order their cards online, like they used. So despite the fact that RTX 4060 series are not a popular choice, the vast majority will buy these cards online.

The person showed up to buy RTX 4060 is upgrading from GTX 1060, so it’s a long-overdue upgrade and possibly a much better upgrade path than RTX 2060/3060 series (with an emphasis on the latter). If one looks at other photographs, it appears that other stores in the popular Tokyo district did not even bother to open, there was simply no one waiting.
