Itβs almost 4 GHz
Overclocker Cens reclaims the GPU frequency world record, now only 25 MHz away from 4.0 GHz.
The RTX 4090 from Colorful has been trading places with high-end GPUs such as GALAX HOF and ASUS MATRIX series. Those are custom graphics cards that have only one purpose: to beat the world records and empty the pockets of some GPU enthusiasts.
Cens and other members of the extreme OC scene like Splave, OGS and Rauf have been on a mission to reach the 4.0 GHz barrier for a few weeks now, but the progress has been slow. Things have only kicked off once more ultra-high-end cards were released and unofficial XOC BIOSes became available.
Currently, all the top ten GPU frequency records belong to RTX 4090 graphics card. Those are sadly not real-world clocks in games, but a competition involving a GPUPI benchmark, which is hardly a 3D test.
The race to 4GHz is on!

The current world record is 3975 MHz and according to Cens the GPU reached 1127 watts at its peak. Of course, this achievement wouldnβt be possible without liquid nitrogen, hardware modifications and special equipment.
Chances are our next report on this competition will confirm the success of the 4 GHz world record. The only question is: Which graphics card and overclocker will take all the glory?
