AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D 16-core AM5 CPU now costs 557 USD

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D gets a 17% price cut (for a limited time)

Just one month after the Ryzen 9 7950X3D dropped to $600, the flagship AMD CPU can now be purchased for $557.

Presently, the CPU is available for purchase on Amazon and Newegg at prices of $629.99 and $662, respectively. These prices may not be considered particularly favorable; however, both stores provide coupons that effectively lower the price to $577. This indicates a notable reduction of 17.4% since the CPU’s initial release in February.

The flagship model in the complete Ryzen 7000 series is the 16-core AMD CPU, boasting an impressive combined L2 and L3 cache of 144MB. Upon its initial release, this CPU was priced at $699, the same as the Ryzen 9 7950X when it launched the previous year. Nevertheless, AMD has encountered challenges in persuading gamers to transition to the AM5 platform, as it necessitates not only a new AM5 platform but also DDR5 memory. Fortunately, the cost of DDR5 memory has significantly decreased since last year, which has eased the burden for potential upgraders.
