ASUS upcoming ROG STRIX RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB memory priced higher than cheapest RTX 4070 cards

ASUS RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB memory ends up with a higher price tag than RTX 4070 from NVIDIA

ASUS is making preparations for the imminent release of its latest graphics card, the RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB VRAM. However, the pricing details that have been revealed thus far do not bode well for consumers.

According to official information, the RTX 4060 Ti series, equipped with 16GB of memory, will be priced $100 higher than the 8GB variants. NVIDIA has set the price for this particular model at $499, while the currently available card is being sold at $399. It has been a common occurrence for ASUS ROG STRIX models to command higher prices upon each release, making the NVIDIA manufacturer’s suggested retail price an unattainable dream for many buyers interested in ROG STRIX series.

The ROG STRIX RTX 4060 Ti 8GB is no exception, currently retailing at an exorbitant $489. This price point is simply unreasonable for a card with a 128-bit architecture at this stage. Nonetheless, ASUS’s pricing strategy will also be influenced by NVIDIA’s change in MSRP for the 16GB model, which could potentially drive the price up to $600 if the information from ITHome proves accurate.

It has been reported that the ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 4060 Ti 16GB variant will be priced at 4699 RMB, just 100 RMB shy of the RTX 4070 , which retails for 4799 RMB for Founders Edition. However, it is important to note that this MSRP does not apply to AIB custom models anymore. The RTX 4070 can currently be found for 4400 RMB, making the 16GB model from ASUS still more expensive.

According to reports , board partners have expressed concerns about the challenging sales prospects for the RTX 4060 Ti featuring 16GB of memory, primarily due to its high price. The situation may be even more severe than anticipated by NVIDIA, particularly with offerings like the one presented by ASUS.
