AYANEO AIR 1S Ultra Thin&Light console weights only 405g, packs Ryzen 7 7840U
AYANEO’s new handheld console is set to go back to the roots of handheld gaming, by combining the best hardware with a light and thin design. This might be one of the first Ryzen 7000 consoles to fit into a pocket.
The company has just unveiled two systems based on the same AMD hardware, offering a wide range of models to choose from. AYANEO has introduced the AIR 1S and AIR 1S Ultra-Thin & Light versions. Let’s delve into the shared specifications of both systems.
The 1S series is equipped with the Ryzen 7 7840U Zen4 Phoenix processor, boasting 8 cores and a boost clock speed of up to 5.1 GHz. While the company has not disclosed the complete details, it is worth mentioning that it can operate efficiently within the 5W to 25W range.

AYANEO 1S incorporates LPDDR5X memory onboard, although the exact speed has not been confirmed by the company. There are two memory options available: 16GB for the base model and 32GB for all other variants.
Notably, AYANEO has managed to fit a large M.2 2280 SSD into this compact system, providing gamers with a broader selection of storage upgrades compared to Ally’s and Deck’s standard M.2 2230 SSDs. Users who prefer a hassle-free experience can choose from storage capacities of 512GB, 1TB, 2TB, and even 4TB.

Both systems from AYANEO feature an AMOLED 5.5-inch display. With a pixel density of 404 PPI and a resolution of 1920×1080, one can expect excellent color reproduction, given the display’s 99% DCI-P3 coverage. However, it is important to note that the peak brightness is 350 nits.
The most noteworthy aspect of the 1S series is its compact size and lightweight design. The standard 1S model weighs 450g and has a thickness of only 21.6 mm. It comes with a 38Wh (10050 mAh) battery. Additionally, there is an even lighter Ultra-Thin variant weighing 405g and measuring 1.8 cm in thickness. However, this variant features a reduced battery capacity of 28Wh (7350 mAh) and is only available with 32GB of memory and 2TB of storage.

Regarding pricing, the console will be initially offered at a lower price during the crowdfunding period, with a discount ranging from $100 to $150 compared to the retail price. However, we advise against preordering hardware, especially devices that have not undergone thorough testing. Therefore, we will only provide information on the final retail price.

The most feature packed model with “Retro Power” styling comes with 32GB memory and 4TB of storage, which costs $1,259.
