Intel Lunar Lake, Jupiter Sound and DG3 spotted in GPU drivers

A Redditor stblr who discovered the full specs of AMD Navi 21 GPU in the macOS driver, has now shared further details on Intel’s next-generation graphics and consumer processor series.

Just yesterday Intel announced its DG1 GPU. The processor is used by a discrete mobile graphics card called Iris Xe MAX. This is an entry-level GPU with a performance comparable to GeForce MX450, a multimedia oriented solution.

Intel is already developing its Xe-HPG architecture, which is targeted at gamers. The first GPU to utilize the architecture is rumored to be the DG2.  There are various rumors in regard to its configuration, but it appears to be at least 384 Execution Units in a cut-down version with the full GPU offering 512 EUs. The GPU would utilize GDDR6 memory, as intel already confirmed. The manufacturer also claims that the GPU will launch next year, but no specific date was mentioned.

The new leak, however, already mentions its successor. The DG3 would be a Gen13 GPU, the drivers allegedly revealed. It is too early to judge where will this graphics processor be used, but it wouldn’t be surprising if DG3 would become the backbone of Intel’s first actual discrete (modern) desktop graphics card.

Intel Jupiter Sound

The Jupiter Sound (JPS) is allegedly a Gen13 GPU that would succeed the Arctic Sound series. The Xe-HP-based GPUs have already been shown by Intel and they offer up to four ’tile’ configuration with up to 2048 Execution Units.

Intel Lunar Lake

Another codenamed that appears in a leak is Lunar Lake. What the leak provided is the information that Lunar Lake (LNL) is Gen13 graphics, the same level as Jupiter Sound and DG3. It is rumored to be Meteor Lake’s successor, so it is certainly not expected very soon. The rumors about long-term support for the LGA1700 socket would also suggest that Lunar Lake is the last generation to be supported by this socket.
